Are you a recent graduate of a Master’s level counseling or mental health program?
Are you seeking an experienced professional in your area who can fine tune and add to your skill set?
Are you uncertain of how to go about preparing for and setting up a Private Practice?
If so, then you have come to the right place!
With my over 40 years of practice and specialization in working with children, adults, couples and families, I am well qualified to offer my expertise in a variety of treatment options. I have been supervising student interns and graduates for over 15 years. My eclectic approach philosophy believes in acquiring knowledge and experience in many types of therapy, and the ability to know what works best for the different needs presented by clients.
Licensure in the state of Florida requires 200 hour of clinical supervision by an approved supervisor. It also requires a set number of client hours of face to face counseling. If you are working at an agency, you may have access to this supervision during your employment, however, this is not the case for everyone.
I offer bi-weekly supervision sessions, during which we discuss
- Identifying and assessing the presenting problem
- Gaining important information about present and family of origin influences
- Identifying the clients thoughts, beliefs and behaviors which are affecting the problem
- Choosing homework assignments between sessions
- Overcoming the resistance of the client, spouse, or family members to participate in therapy
- Preparing to take the license exam
- Ongoing continuing education and where to find it
Fees for supervision are $75-$100 per session. If available, there may be opportunities for group supervision at a lesser cost.
